It is ranked 63rd in terms of population density, with an average of 56 people per sq. km. The majority of the population live in the East, in the triangle formed by Auxonne-Dijon-Beaune. There are significantly fewer inhabitants in the West and North of the department. Principal employment sectors are as follows : agriculture (1.80 %), industry (21.50%), building/civil & agricultural engineering (6.25%), trade and commerce (46.15%), other service industries (24.30%). |
